When to visit

Don't go when it's raining. There are portion of the road that are not suitable when raining and the muddy volcano are not visitable. 2. Due to gas eruption the smell can be a little unpleasant. 3. Don't smoke or light any fire as the gas (mostly methane) is flammable. 4. Don't forget your camera. And if you can, try to catch a sunrise or a sunset here. It's worth it

Description

The Muddy Volcanos are an amazing phenomena that occur from gases that erupt from 3000 meters beneath the surface and passing through clay and water layers that they take to the surface. They are considered the biggest and the most beautiful in Europe. They are called volcanos as they look like lava coming from volcanic crater, but it is in gray colors and no smoke or pirotehnic material. So it's like getting close to the forbidden. The are is declared a Monument since 1924. This tour contains 3 areas of volcanic activity in Buzau county, all different from each other: Pâclele Mari, Pâclele Mici and Pâclele from Beciu.
