When to visit

We visited in summer, more exactly in August. I'm sure spring and autumn are great also, but in winter you're going to give some part up.

Description

Rhodopes Mountains are the biggest mountain as surface from Bulgaria. They are not the tallest, but they have other surprises for you. Once you leave Plovdiv, you will get 5 days into the wild and you will come out at the other end a better person. This tour has 2 eco-trail canyons that are in great shape for hiking on wooden bridges and stairs, 2 caves with a lot of stories and mysteries, 2 spectacular gorges carved by the fury of the waters, 2 times you will meet with the Devil at Devil's Throat and Devil's Bridge (no sign of the Devil though), walk the thousand of years historical path at Perperikon and Orlovi skali and see 2 sites with weirdish-amazing natural sculptured rocks. So this place is so great, you have everything in double ;). The pair is never the same, but t's a strange coincidence, don't you think?

we left in the evening to make a few hours of our tour. So after 3-4 hours of driving we stopped at this lovely place in a small village. everything was perfect. The location, it was very quite, the girl waited us until we arrived around 12 in the night and we had dinner there. The place looks very rustic nd authentic.

Beklemeto Pass (Троянски проход) is a mountain pass in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina). It connects Troyan and Karnare. The road is National Road 35 and he highes point of the pass is at 1520 m (4,987 ft). This road is very ld, it was used since roman times. That why it is also called Roman Via Trayana (Trajan road).
